Partners for Education Teaching Artist Directory
Partners for Education Teaching Artists conduct residencies and workshops in school- and community-based settings throughout Appalachian Kentucky. Our directory includes both emerging and experienced artists in various disciplines (including visual, performing, literary, media and folk arts) as we work to build the capacity of artists and schools to work together, utilizing the arts to support student success. This document includes professional bios, sample program descriptions, and contact information for the artists juried onto our roster, as well as tips for working with teaching artists and recommended pay guidelines.
Documenting Communities | Media Arts Toolkit
Our partners at KET Education have incorporated activities and media from the Our Creative Promise project into their Media Arts Toolkit – a resource available to teachers throughout Kentucky and available to a national audience via PBS Learning Media. This collection of videos, activities and support materials includes resources and ideas for documenting communities, ranging from photo and video projects to writing “Where I’m From” poems.
Place-based Creative Projects with myON
Partners for Education at Berea College has developed several community projects on myON using e-books related to arts, culture and heritage. This document provides a brief description of each project and how to access them on the myON digital literacy platform.
